I read a couple of the books when I was seeing a girl who was obsessed with the Potter.

They are very well written and the movies are decent.

This last one is getting some pretty great reviews.

As for Quidditch. Can you imagine an Everton Quidditch team?

If he bows out and takes Evil with him ala Ben Kenobe in episode IV then I will be sorely unimpressed.

Never read, or seen any of the films, bit boring from what i saw parts of at Christmas.

Kinda hard to be completely original on a planet with a population of over 6 billion. Even acclaimed authors like Orson Scott Card said he took TONS of inspiration in the 70's with his work.

I haven't read any of the books so can't really comment on them, but must say that this argument that 'they get people reading' can only go so far. I mean people read the Twilight books as well but they're hardly literary greats.
