The 'hammers....

Call me pedantic but doesn't the presence of that apostrophe suggest this thread be called The 'ammers...? :coffee:

As for the game, I'm getting a sort of out-of-body experience where I'm watching our season, Bob's tenure and, possibly, our continuous 60 years in the top division come to an end. I don't want to be yet another FA Cup winning but relegated club.

I'm almost positive only one club has ever done that ever. It's not common.

We'll just get relegated and win nothing, don't worry about it.

As said, they'll pull it round to win this because they will want to be in it after Martinez is gone. The two games after this tie in the PL they'll be back to sticking the knife into the manager and our league campaign until they get what they want: one of their mates in charge.

It's pretty easy to call this one.

I don't understand this davek. Why would they suddenly want Martinez gone? They must share a fair relationship after the wonderful season (I mean last season).

Because most of them were opposed to him coming in. See Howard's book comments and the way all the senior players have commented from time to time about how they were unsure of Martinez when he came in.

Look, if you think these players are flat out playing for the shirt then good luck to you. Me, I just see what's put in front of me - and that is a group of players who take to the pitch and cannot be arsed defending in even a basic way. If you believe these ****ers are acting above board and professionally, I'm delighted for you. I've seen enough. It's not a difficult thing to make a call on, not even close. These players are intentionally under performing.

Not a shadow of a doubt.

Strange. They must want Moyes back then.

I'd suggest they want what a lot of them wanted after Moyes left: a continuation of the past with one of the backroom staff getting it.

I will be amazed if these players dont get their own way now on that.

I have no hope left for Roberto: he's a dead man walking now because these players are determined to see the man out. I hope against hope though that the board resist an internal appointment even in the short term and bring in another outsider who then gets stuck into this crew with an axe in January and the summer.

For me it's an insult that the following receive a wage off Everton still:

Distin
Jagielka
Howard
Osman

They need to be out the door shortly after Martinez is given his marching orders.

All the players were happy and everything was perfect last year when they were getting nice big contract extensions with big pay increases. They look completely clueless this season. If the poor run continues cant see Roberto surviving long. Aren't we due an announcement on the new stadium, potential investment or the three billionaires that Bill has found that are on the verge of buying the club? Just to take our minds off the football.

So your Phil jagielka Tuesday comes round and your about to enter the bear pit. I think there will be a decent crowd for this game and every one of them will be like a champagne cork ready to explode in a positive or negative way. The supporters are desperate for some heart, passion, fight, I don't care what my manager said to me I would gather my players before the start tell them to press all over the field from the first minute, get the fans onside and ride the wave . If RM gets the hump screw him deal with it after the game. Result is secondary for me in this one I WANT PASSION.

It's going to be a tough game. They're a good side these days. Stones, Jimmy Mac and Besic will need to be at the races for us to get the win.
