I thought his transformation last season from lumbering drunken elephant to deft generalissimo was quite remarkable. I still think Cahill is a much better header of the ball, though.

Let's be honest, Tim's probably the best player in the world with his head.

Felli is a fine player though. The perfect defensive mid; strong, aware, tall/good in the air, smart distribution, good with the ball at his feet and with an eye for goal (be it tap ins, set pieces or even the ocassional nice strike). Oh, and he's really young too.

Jesus Christ what a player we have.

Aye, it's like having a battleship cruising the waters just in front of the defence. I fear we'll lose him to a European giant one day quite soon but in the meantime, after being a bit dubious about him in his first season (not least because my Belgian mate wasn't too hot on him), I'm a complete convert who will savour his every classy performance. I just wish he'd keep his elbows to himself a bit more.

To be fair most of the cards he got were crazy. They were punishing him for everything.

I saw him elbow someone once, and get away with it, but that was a while ago. Hopefully he doesn't do that crap again.

He seems a really decent bloke though by the sounds of it. And apparently he's already one of the lads, if you know what I mean, despite not speaking English when he first came. That said, his English now is quite good.

Such is Fellaini’s all-encompassing ability, he is the kind of defensive midfielder Fabio Capello could one day wish was born in Liverpool, not Belgium.

“If you’re thinking about England they’re crying out for defensive midfield players,” says Moyes. “They don't have a natural holding player. I don't even think Gareth Barry is that type, at his best he was playing down the left flank and joining in.

“Maybe Owen Hargreaves at his best, but England would love someone like Felli; young, up and coming, six feet plus, comfortable on the ball, good in both boxes, a good passer. He’s got the makings of a top player.

His development has been quite amazing really, certainly for me, being the doubter I was. I misjudged his potential and I'm looking forward to seeing him grow as a player over the next few years, it's quite scary how good Fellaini and Rodwell could be in a few years time, we are set for the future really.

That's why I said we are set really, they can either stay here and dominate together or we'll sell one or both of them and make big money.
