Because I can't seem him fitting into the Spurs starting 11 for the big games. I can understand him wanting to play CL footy, but think he'll be a spectator most of the time. Now, I can't see much joy for him in that. At least at Everton he was almost guaranteed a starting place, because he fitted our needs/system as much as we fitted him.

He did play against Milan in both legs and will probably get a run out at some point against real.

Worth while if you think about it. He'd never ever play in those games with us

Be a comfortable regular starter at a mid table team with no money or challenge for a spot at a team in the Champions League with a team who have won things and have more chance of doing so than us?

Of course only he will know if he ever regrets the move (same as Lescott) and we can only guess, but i think things will have to be a lot worse than being a squad member at Spurs for him to regret giving it a shot.

Totally agree with you there.

My (Kopite) mate always bangs on about how we got such an incredible deal for Lescott when he wasn't worth half that, and whilst I do agree we got a bit more for him than what he was worth, he and Jags had such a strong partnership which was very diverse and had a good balance.

Likewise with pienaar he just fitted, and therefore is difficult to replace. But as i said in another thread I think Gueye may possibly be the answer, and if he doesn't and he moves on then we won't make a loss.

A great pairing nuff said, whoever we play infront of Bainsey will need time to make partnership..

Well he's got his 13 pieces of silver which is the crux of the matter.
Baines is twice the footballer this man has ever been or will ever be,goodbye stephen enjoy your odd cameo role for spurs.

Obviously Baines is the shidizle.....but Pienaar was the snidazle and without the snidazle you aint got the siduzle.....if you get me....?

He done my head in at pretending that he wanted to stay, playing a cute game in the media. The club offered him a really good deal.

The tit done one.

He will be remembered as a good little player for us, but not all that.
