Gotta give them someone, I mean we're taking half of miami here! Like this makes the Jays big contenders for next season if all is sorted in this one.

You would hope. I had big hopes for this season but they never materialised probably due to the every one of the starting rotation getting injured in the space of a month. If we can get Encarnacion and Lawrie firing again next season then I really think it'll be a good season

The poll on that site makes me laugh:

Who got the better of this trade?

Toronto Blue Jays - 95.2%
Miami Marlins - 4.8%
Total votes: 711

No sh1t

Now looking at our starting rotation I think it is up there with the best in the league, I don't know if I'm being biased though. Also I see HR's throughout the roster too: Arenciba, Encarnacion, Bautista, Lawrie, Davis, Rasmus - all big, exciting hitters

Haha 95.2% ace. And well depending on how our pitching goes going into the season I'd be reasonably confident. Benefiting big time from Miami not meeting its financial targets.

Saw a tweet somewhere that said anyone on Miami making (good) money is going to Toronto. Money in sport folks.

Mega excited about the trade. Pretty much solves all the problems we had with our roster in one swoop. Not bothered about losing Alvarez, still not convinced he's a SP seeing as he only has 2 decent pitches. A starting rotation of Johnson, Morrow, Romero, Buehrle and Happ looks very tasty indeed. Reyes should be great for us too, a proper lead-off hitter so Lawrie can move down the order. How awesome are those two going to be on defence too?!

Only unresolved issue is who is going to be our every day 2B? Not sure what the Johnson contract situation is but we now have Izturis and Bonifacio who can both play there. We shall see. Anyway, exciting times are ahead!

I thought Colby Rasmus did an excellent job as a lead off hitter last season although Reyes will do good it'll be interesting to see how Rasmus fits into the team next season. Second base, SHOULD be Jan Gomez but we traded him so not sure who can play second base; Escobar?

Escobar has gone to the Marlins mate! As things stands it looks like Izturis/Boni, not sure either are a dramatic improvement on Kelly Johnson but both good versatile players. Not worried about Colby, would be very surprised if he isn't our starting centre fielder next year. LF is another interesting one as well. Davis, Gose and Boni can all play there but no one standout candidate. Bringing in Buck leads me to think we're not done trading just yet as we don't really need him, JPA and d'Arnaud. Unless we're thinking use Buck as backup catcher to JPA to allow d'Arnaud to start the season in the minors? Not sure but wouldn't be surprised if Buck was flipped.

Biggest problem this season though was starting pitching and we look to have solved that in one trade so I'm pretty darn pleased!

Oh yeah forgot he went in the trade! Maybe but we've got Jeff Mathis too so not sure what's gonna happen about catcher. Outfield will be fine as will Colby, as long as he's playing we'll be fine. Yeah the pitching problem was laughable at times but hopefully it'll be sorted now

He's gone too! We've got plenty of options though. Just thinking about our possible lineup for opening day 2013 is very exciting!

Now the roster is pretty much sorted we just need someone to manage them...
