Player Valuation: £50k
We should expect the usual comment, 'they are too good to go down!', are we,? Looks obvious, never thought I would say this after 60 yrs supporting but they are just not good enough.

We most certainly are not too good to go down.

Teams that have that moniker are usually complacent - that's why people are "surprised" they drop and post-rationalise that they were too good to go down. We are certainly complacent enough to add to that list in 2025, because far too many think our players are better than they are.

We used to eat steaks and caviar, now it's peanut butter and a candy bar, is this the future.
Oh, what I wouldn't GIVE for peanut butter and a candy bar...

I don't think anyone thinks we're too good to go down, everyone knows we're rubbish. There would be a collective shrug of the shoulders should we be relegated. That doesn't mean we should just lay back and accept it with the current incumbent feckless manager.

He has to go. This week.

But the squad needs gutting, starting in January. These players are simply not worthy of this shirt.

Moshiri has failed in just about every area of this club (stadium being the only bright spot). Recruitment has been poor, the commercial side of the club has stagnated, we are a financial basket case and the management of the playing side of the business has been failure after failure. The squad is poor, yes, and it needs massively updating but that will take time, both to make sure we get the right people and don't screw it up like last time and to remain compliant with all of the financial regulations. I don't see the Friedkins going all shock and awe in the transfer market, I don't think we have the psr latitude to do so. What we can do, right now, as in today, is change the management of the football team. A management team that has run out of ideas and seemingly run out of belief that it can make a material difference to our fortunes.
