Been saying this for a while glad Moyes has finaly started to listen to me!

Me Likey Likey:

Marouane Fellaini and Jack Rodwell are two of the brightest midfield talents around.

That's the view of Everton boss David Moyes, who predicted the pair will sit among some of the Premier League's top talent as their development continues.

Despite making just 13 league start between them so far, Moyes is confident the pair will be a vital part of the Blues' future.

Fellaini is back from suspension to face Middlesbrough this weekend and Rodwell gave a good account of himself after starting the game at West Ham on Saturday.

He declared: "I am really excited about Fellaini being 20-years-old and Jack Rodwell being 17. I think we could have two of the most exciting young midfield players in the country in the future.

"It might mean we have to take a step back for a year to let those two develop and come through, but I definitely think both those young players have big futures ahead of them."

Fellaini's standing has been highlighted by the £15million price tag Everton paid for his services and the regular starting position he now holds down for his country.

Home-grown Rodwell has played for England's under 16s, 17s and 19s and Moyes reckons he has what it takes to play for the full side.

"Fellaini is already a big player in Belgium and a big part of the new up and coming Belgium side which is full of young players," said Moyes. "And I have no doubt Jack Rodwell will be a player in the future for Everton and more than likely for England as well."

The Everton boss also revealed that he felt some of the yellow cards Fellaini received that lead to his one-match ban were harsh.

"I think using the word tackling might be over the top!" said Moyes.

"He has got big gangly legs and they have got in the way. I think they have been soft bookings but if you score a goal and celebrate and don’t go off the pitch - he wouldn’t have been suspended, so that is what he got it for.

"Hopefully his development and his understanding will get better."

The futures bright and Super Mou leads the way. You can stick your trannyfannydes up your arse.

I dnt like the take a step back remark tho, its as if hes given up on the season already, hell we win on Sunday and every1 above us loses we go 4th!! Jesus H Christ.

Wasnt over joyed about that either doesnt really sound if hes planning any big spends in Jan either.

How about this for qa centre midfeild!

-------------Fellini-----Rodwell

------------------Baxter!

Rubs hands!

Moyes must think a lot of Rodwell tho, i mean hes slotted into the team faultlessly, hes still young and clearly still learning the game, he must see Mou and Jack as the future, check out my bad boy team.

-------------------------Howard-------------------
Neville-----Jageilka-------Yobo-----Lescott---Baines
-------------------------Rodwell-------------------
--------Fellaini-----------Arteta---------------Cahill
-----------------------Yak/Saha-------------------

Unbeatable.

I agree with that, mate. Moyes does this sort of thing a lot. He buries bad news in positive spin.

Rodwell is a centre back...

Only Everton.

Fellaini is going to be immense though.

I know hes played most of his career there Danny but surely Moyes wouldnt play him in midfeild presently if he didnt think this would be his eventual position, hes being playing there for the rezzies too.

He's played Neville and Jagielka there too so it doesn't mean that much on the face of it. Having said that, the little I've seen of Rodwell, he already looks more accomplished than the other two in a midfield role so who knows

It'll be interesting to see where Jack's future position is, centre back or centre midfield.

At the moment the best thing to do would be to move him into midifeld. He'll learn a new position, he can make more mistakes without being punished and he can improve his distribution and use of the ball.

Either way playing him in midifeld is the way to go in my opinion and I'm happy Moyes is doing that. He's got alot of ability so he'd suit either position.

I honestly think we haven't seen the best of him. He's trying to keep it simple so that he doesn't make as many mistakes. The more he develops the more he'll express himself on the pitch. He's not an out and out ball winner, he can be much more than that.

I was a bit sceptical when I read Moyes thinks he could go back to CB in the future, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. He could be an absolutely amazing centre back, in the Ferdinand mould.

Definatly, a ball playing centre half who can bring it out of defence and stop our hoofing.

I'm hoping he's going to be a midfielder though. It's a position we are week in and Rodwell/Fellaini as a partnership appeals to me. A good mixture of strength, height and quality.

We'll just have to wait and see really, he's developing very well though. He's certainly hasn't looked out of place and he's 17 YEARS OLD!!! There's things he needs to work on but he can definatly compete at this level already.

Yak Saha Vaughan
-Fellaini Arteta
---Rodwell

It's gonna happen.

someone else mentioned Rodwell on here recently in terms of him gaining experience now so as to build on it and move forwards over the coming seasons.

shows a lot of faith in the lad from Moyes and the coaches, but then I suspect Rodwell being tapped up by Chelsea maybe brought his personal circumstances to the fore slightly quicker than originally intended.

My biggest fear with these two is burn out,at some point DM going to have to rest them and given the paper thin nature of the squad its going to be a tough call as to when to do it..interesting times ahead
