& The rest a national Bank holiday doesn't come cheap .......avoided it tbh - propagation of my geraniums & took my summer wall baskets down ....felt really ill after my recent flu jab ....... Avoided the TV as it's just not my bag .....

….as loathsome as it is, privilege and wasted monies will not end if the monarchy ends. It’s probably apparent in most countries in the world regardless of how they are run. Possibly visitors have spent much more in Edinburgh and London since the Queen died.

I’m ambivalent to it, I feel much greater angst at this Government.

Oh yeah, it'll have been a massive economic hit. But the trappings of it all will be around £15M.

People cant put food on the table or heat their homes but never mind, the richest family in the world needs to have the public spend £15M on burying one of them.

Think that's a very conservative assessment myself. It cost us £3.1m just for 'security' at Thatchers funeral. The Queen mothers funeral was said to have cost over £5m twenty years ago.
Neither of them were a true 'state funeral' The last 'state funeral' was Churchill in 1965 and was said to be between 1 and 2 millon quid.
(in 1965 FFS you could have a good night out for 5 bob)
