The facts dont support the notion we've slipped away from the top 6

Since New Years Day fixtures:

Arsenal 48 pts
Chelsea 42 pts
United 42 pts
City 36 pts
Spurs 34 pts
Liverpool 34 pts
Everton 30 pts
Southampton 28 pts

...that is us right in amongst it and a very bridgeable gap back to where we were.

Admittedly I have had a few after our great win today, but is this post the best example of not understanding the position we are in, in forum posting history

First half of the last season we had an absolute horror run of injuries. About the only one who didn't miss time was Lukaku, and he player hurt the first few months. We dont have the finances for a squad big enough to cope with that.

I think for some it is not where we finish, it has been how we are playing for the most part.
And it hasn't been good or enjoyable very often.

I look forward to our 7th place since New Years Day (excluding Leicester as their stats don't count) trophy, being paraded next Sunday.

Glad to see your ambition is so high Dave, such a refreshing change from the stale Moyes years of dumbing down of expectations. Well done mate..

It's not that hard to take in, tbh. There's no misunderstanding (or trickery) here.

It's amusing that so many who've replied are resistant to a comparison of form with the teams we're going to have to lock horns with if we want to make a mark this season...that level of teams who (apparently) many regard us as having slipped away from.

It's like they dont want to acknowledge that things aren't as grim as they want them to be.
