I thought you were kidding at first, but you actually dont know what a calendar year is.Let me check.
*gets calender*
Yep, i was right. August 15th 2014 to August 14th 2015 is a calender year.
January 1st 2015 to August 15th 2015 isn't. Ive counted the days and everything.
And lastly, don't worry Dave, unfortunatly i'm sure your "friend" will be back soon.
Code for: shut up you're ruining my nonsense thread with uncomfortable concepts like context, go away, so I can talk absolute pony to those gullible enough to swallow it.Well, I think I've given you and your friend enough explanation for this and it's obvious you don't wish to accept the more than reasonable form guide offered which suggest a lot more hope for our team in relation to where they are with our rivals.
I'll leave it at that, other than to request you allow this thread to develop without you if you have no other contribution to make. You've made your feelings known. Let's just see what others think.
Of course not, that wouldn't be a calendar year then would it?
Dear me.
So just to clarify: you and your mate here are not having it that 20 games - starting from a universally recognised chronological starting point - is enough of a period to judge form on?
OK.
It's funny how the people fuming over Dave's 'arbitrary' run of games also love to move the posts when discussing Lukaku's goal tally.
I don't move the goalposts - they stay exactly the same. League goals. Always has been for me, always will be.
I don't start talking about league goals scored on a Tuesday or whatever.
I thought you were kidding at first, but you actually dont know what a calendar year is.
*sigh*
Either way, it most definitely not 8 months and 15 days.1. a period of 365 or 366 days, in the Gregorian calendar, divided into 12 calendar months, now reckoned as beginning Jan. 1 and ending Dec. 31 (calendar year). Compare common year, leap year.
2. a period of the same length in other calendars.
3.
a. a space of 12 calendar months calculated from any point: We expect to finish in a year.
b. fiscal year.
20 games = a 'snapshot'?
Have another go.
You must be alone in not ever having heard football people using a calendar year form guide to make a counterpoint to season long stats.
It's an orthodox marker to judge where a team is at. In this instance it puts Everton not too far away from the points tallies our peer group have amassed and another way of assessing exactly where we are as a team and how much ground we have to take back.
I'm sorry if the conclusions that must be drawn from that comparison point in a positive direction for us and doesn't emphasise the doom and gloom you and your cohorts would like to be the order of the day.
Don't know why you're all jumping on Dave here. All he's doing is using our last 20 games as a form guide. Think it's a fair amount of games to judge form on.
