We gave up on the keep calm and stiff upper lip thing. Starting with Princess Dr's demise, our media brainwashed us to be hypersensitive, easily offended and overly emotional about all kinds of stuff. It sells papers that way.
We spend most of our time now, worried about what others think and might say.

I'm always optimistic. Every season, completely irrationally. I then place my £5 ew bet that we will win the league and continue to be mindlessly optimistic until it all goes horribly wrong- which it inevitably does. This season I feel that, for a change, my optimism does have some foothold in reality! Bring.It.On.

Wishful thinking - and the only way I get through my days - but I believe that when the transfer activity finally starts hotting up our heads will be left spinning at the numbers and sheer quality of the incoming signings.

And then by mid-October/November the docklands site will be confirmed (only because it will probably take at least that long for the various parties to reach agreement and do the necessary costings).

And the grass on the new pitch will be kept short by a team of fluffy bunny rabbits.

For a country that gave us that whole "keep calm and carry on" thing, you all sure do panic and have your heads fall off a lot about football transfers.

Hardly relevant. That Keep Calm and Carry On poster was only to be used when the Nazis invaded the UK. We are a normally stoic people - that is if you're not an emotionally incontinent youth.
