It doesnt take an idiot to ask why the Club is spending 20m+ on OOC.

It takes an idiot to not question it tho.

Yeah the reason why this is being questioned is because it's grown at a rate that is out of proportion of other expensives and other businesses.

There's something big hidden in there which we weren't paying ten years ago. It would be nice to at least have an idea what that is.

An idiot doesn't need to question it when he understands it.

Its a miscellaneous budget line, nothing sinister, no conspiracy, its what every other organisation has. Why should the club detail every expense to keep idiots at bay?

It jumped from around 10m to 20m in 12months and now its firmly stuck in the 20m+ region.

Buy hey, only idiots question how this has happened.

Ok, Mr know it all, can you tell me what items are in the OOC?

Cos you clearly have the answers.

Our Chairman said he didnt have a clue.
Our CEO mumbled something about lawnmowers and grass.

Is it usual for a miscellaneous expense to double in a short space of time, with no obvious explanation? Particularly given the sums involved?

Anything and everything, miscellanous purchases and equipment. Think about, the nominal stuff that would be purchased that you would overlook which a company needs. It could range from lawnmowers to grass to the artifical lamps that make the grass grow, food, refreshments for staff during matches and training, nets, goals, footballs, ink cartridges, printers, stationary, computers, servers, new ticketing machines.

Literally everything that is not budgeted forat the start of the fiscal year gets lumped into a miscellaneous purchase,

So in 12 months, all of these items doubled in price?

Wow.

Its not the column we have an issue with, its the 10m increase, but hey, im an idiot for asking just why this happened.

I know the dictionary definition of miscellaneous. You have told us absolutely nothing we don't know. I would like you to explain how stationary and sprinklers have managed to double the miscellaneous budget. The handy thing about the definition of miscellaneous is that, as you have precisely said, it can potentially cover everything and anything, we means it is most at risk of collusive exploitation, should there so be any.
