No, i don't think he does only care about himself, he has said there in black and white he doesn't take a salary, he has mortgaged his own home and has begged the bank, despite the almost comedic content of the manuscript there is no way on earth he is there for himself.
Post it here mate, no issue with getting feedback you know that. I dont know what was and wasn't making me cringe tbh. The while thing just made me feel sad.
Fully agreed, that was my over riding emotion. I didn't want to be hypercritical but I just wish they'd do things a bit more delicately, if they give enough rope then the club will hang themselves in the eyes of the fans, so I'd like the churlish stuff to be swerved as it only makes the BU come across as petty. Didn't like these bits:
The beginning bit, it's an intro to set an influential stance on it rather than being a transcript. It was pretty much their conclusions and selected bits And why the unpaid leave stuff? I don't get why that's important?
Using Blackburn as a positive example. Come on. Saying they might be sat here with Championships in five years time clearly isn't going to happen.
Asking the Yankees to buy us as they hate the Red Sox. So it's ok for Everton to be an American plaything born out of spite? Would you propose them to take over the club based on that anyway? You get laughed at. Not to mention the owner of them is pretty much a [Poor language removed] who gets laughed at by the rest of the US.
The questioning of the Other Operating Costs. Look at Villa and Spurs OOC, they're comparable. As Bill stated the accounts have to go through various chartered accountants and legal processes so it's clear there is no siphoning. He doesn't take a wage ffs, there's other things you can get him on than that, it just makes the BU look paranoid and into conspiracy theories.
Pushing the merits of the Football Quarter. Do they have a mandate from the fans for that or it is a personal interest? Careful ground they're treading there after Kirkby.
Them coming across as "we don't want to work against you" and that. It's complete contrary to how they've been acting and what they've been saying. Large factions of that have been militant against him. Be consistent at least.
They're three blues trying to get some idea of what's going on, sound I appreciate that. He's sat and answered all of their questions and clarified a few things. I could now do a list of what I didn't like what he said and it would be a lot longer clearly. The BU would gain more popular support if they stopped coming across as churlish and smarmy though. If they're professional about it then they could really get a foothold in the support, but they need to be bit more PR savvy.
My thoughts anyway, for what it's worth. I appreciate them having a go.
Will feed them back mate. The only one I would argue strongly for me is the unpaid leave stuff which was put in purely because a huge proportion of fans were claiming this was an all expenses paid trip that had been funded by the club and that somehow they were being "paid off". I would also say the lads were shocked to get the meeting, it was last minute and I think that shows in part. In future meetings (with anyone) I would like to get more heavily involved and hope we will learn from this.

"All I can see is every other Football Club in the country wanting to be like Everton Football Club; every one of them, every single one of them"
