Yes, him and Reeves have been a let down but I would rather see the real abusing scum brought down in this scandal.

Another one who draws a false distinction between those with direct contact with Epstein and those who cosied up to and became embroiled with Epstein.

That's a head of a pin you're dancing on there.

The people involved in it have all been identified and will suffer from it - thankfully - though not enough. But you draw too much of a distinction between Starmer and them. Starmer KNEW that Mandelson was deeply involved with Epstein. He knew it and he then hired him for the most important diplomatic job this country has. By doing that he shat on all the victims of Epstein. So, in short: if you want to ignore that fact then you go on and do that. I WONT be doing that.

And beyond that: if you want a decent LP to be in office again Starmer leaving is the only way that happens and the only way Reform and their far right politics can be stopped.
I do not remotely support the notion that Starmer knew the level of association between Mandleson and Epstein, I’m just not having it.

You will most likely now try to belittle that belief and head pat, as that’s your style.

Believe what you want to believe, you certainly won’t change my mind on it.

Starmer has his faults, but I believe he has more integrity than that.

….as somebody who supports Starmer I do think this is more about what he knew rather than what’s come out since. Saying ‘if I knew then what I know now’ doesn’t wash.

With that regard, he knew enough without the additional information to stay well clear of Mandelson. He was warned at the time but took the risk.

In my mind, there is absolutely no doubt it’s a serious error of judgement, I just can’t see how it can be viewed as anything else.

The Guardian - not exactly know for its anti-Starmer stance.

What vetting process did Mandelson go through?

Mandelson underwent a two-stage vetting process. The first was “due diligence” by the Cabinet Office’s propriety and ethics team, which sent a document to No 10 with outstanding questions before his appointment in late 2024.

The document consisted of information in the public domain, including that Mandelson had stayed overnight at Epstein’s house and had an ongoing friendship with him after the latter’s release from prison.

It is understood that Starmer asked Mandelson to address three specific questions after reviewing the file, and that the prime minister’s chief of staff, Morgan McSweeney, sent them to him by email. He was asked why he had continued to have contact with Epstein after his conviction, if he had stayed at one of Epstein’s homes during his incarceration, and whether he associated with an Epstein-backed charity founded by the sex offender’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

It appears No 10 was satisfied with his answers at the time and Mandelson was appointed.

To be fair though, as I agreed earlier, if this was Boris Johnson of course I would be calling for his resignation.

He was a serial lying, useless journalist masquerading as a politician though, Starmer even with all of his faults is leagues above that bumbling, inbred narcissist.

Starmer's a lawyer who got into politics in his 50s. I think there's more things than sleaze he and Johnson share...like being very comfortable with those who have vast wealth....which is why he was ok with hiring Mandelson - the conduit between New Labour and vast wealth - to do a job in Washington.

The distinctions you seek to make between Starmer and corruption simply doesn't stack up.

You were sold a pup with Starmer. Time to recognise he was a liar and you were duped.

They made may pm in spite of windrush, wavy gravy it's ed davey is involved with the post office scandal, (a post office the tories sold I add), cameron told lies about hidden overseas bank accounts, boris is trash-scum, they made truss pm for a laugh and sunak was cautioned by the cops twice (party + seatbelt). Oh and the chancellor 'forgot' to pay £5M in income tax.

Six degrees of separation starmer, had to pick between mandelson or osborne to kowtow to trump and co in washington. The very heart of epsteins dealings with some of the very same people.

But but but, galloway though, but southgate, but fake broken legs and hollywood...

Like with all things tory and their media, lets see the crowing and heckling when one of theirs is caught doing much worse as usual.

starmer shouldn't have surrounded himself with a blanket of blair stooges, regardless of what they were promising him.

All the files, all the documents, all the offenders, all the crimes, all accounted for. The victims know.
