This is the biggest economic threat we all face, especially the younger generation. As things become increasingly corporatized, these corporation will quite easily replace humans with AI...it is happening already in some sectors, but will certainly happen in other sectors: medicine, transportation, education, etc.

Maybe it'll be the great freedom inspiration. We can all become artists, singers, painters, sculptors, and pursue physical challenges, cycling, weight lifting, rowing and what not. So much free time, for reading and writing books. nic coppola could finally get some acting classes for instance.

Maybe there has been life on other planets, it got so clever that it replaced itself with digital life* so to speak, and eventually analogue had run it's course. Nature was tamed and redundicised. Now* all there is is data.

Money has never been 'worth' anything in and of itself, tbf. It's just a means of exchange.

Even when countries were on the gold standard the face value of a particular denomination of currency was determined by the amount of gold held in reserve v. the amount of currency in circulation. Back in the day, If everyone exchanged their money for gold and that became the means of exchange then the value of the gold would only be relative to the commodities that could be purchased with it which would likely be identical value to the money that it was exchanged for in the first place.

You'd just go down ASDA and buy a Melton Mobray pork pie with gold instead of notes.
