The email

Ok mate, fair point. Maybe we can conme to some half way house term for our position...between my death spiral description and your view we have a thriving vibrant business?

How about 'financially crippled'?

How about "constrained by a tight budget prior to a sale of the club" ?

Not to ruin the whole 'what a load of crapola' parade..

But 'PED', they guy who apparently received the email, is known to have a source at the club. and everything in that email sounds feasible apart from the lack of wage paying, as im pretty sure news would be all over that.

It is clear we are in major **** when we let 3 players go and get no-one in!

Yes we all know who PED is.

Its still nonsense.

The wages thing makes me think its nonsense, but half the email, even if guesswork, are not far from the truth. I love the optimism about a possible sale in the summer, we can only hope, surely Kenwright HAS TO now. He will destroy Everton if he doesnt.

I thought it was legit, until I got to the player Wants/ Player wages..

I can see BK asking the board first to sell Pip. Followed by our Moysey laying down in ultimatum..

I can see big clubs coming for Fellaini, but hell, that will happen regardless..

Overall, the email is garbage, and not good for the club.

Its not optimism about Kenwright selling. The drop (across the board of football) club credit ratings indicates that cheap credit is no longer available. (The cause of which is a tightened credit market, not the hysterical ravings of some seeming to suggest otherwise). It merely reflects the future cost of credit to an institution or business like EFC.

Therefore Kenwright has absolutely no ability to change the financial structure of the club or to maintain the club long term.

Its a cold hard fact.

Therefore he will go sooner rather than later.

That has more of a reflection of getting players off the wage bill prior to a sale of the club more than any day to day financial problems that are supposed to exist according to the rumour mongers, yet not one has provided evidence to that effect.

Also by taking large contracts onto the books that future owners, would have as liabilities he'd complicate future sale of the club.

Thats the logic.

Thats why no one like me is panicking all over the shop like some on the internet.

Oh and apparently were supposed to have gone into administration yesterday... what happened there then? It's like 2012. Every day here at the moment.

Kenwright will sell soon enough. I think by the summer. But as for saying the clubs in a deathspiral. Behave. Its merely the fact that Kenwright can no longer afford EFC that will cause him to sell soon.

Nothing urgently going to affect the club though. Not financially at any rate.

btw totally agree the club is being set up for a sale .
balance the books , do the dirty work ....... better price and less to do for new owners.

btw , despite the lack of buys (and distrust and lack of belief in the board) looking at the squad (whats left of it ) i think we are a tough lean unit. we have also done well with a small squad in the past.

gk ...... howard mucha
def ..... jags distin heitinga baines coleman neville hibbert
mid ..... osman bily arteta fellaini cahill rodwell
for ..... saha beckford anichebe gueye

thats still as good a core of a squad as any in the prem imo.

younger players ... duffy mustafi barkley wallace baxter

there plenty to be miffed about but also a few reasons to be cheerful.

This. I also think if Kenwright isn't doing this - he'd be completely foolish, which surviving for 10 years as EFC chairman, and in the theatre business he's not.

Despite what people would say.

It all seriously points to a prep for sale.

Could you imagine potential buyers being happy if Kenwright had agreed to some risky transfers on 4 year £10million contracts.

They'd FUME. They wouldn't with proven performers in the existing squad (Fellaini and Coleman as these are assets already on the books).

They'd want to ensure any they bring in are ones they've authorised with the manager.

Kenwright might not be publicly admitting it - but he's definitely preping for sale.

In your opinion Matt, do you think there are many realistic buyers out there?

And do you think it will happen low key quite quickly...?

I know the sky 4 media won't be interested...

I just wish most people would not believe every single thing they hear/read,its very easy for things to be made up,admin,no one payed etc etc when everton are not buying anyone and getting rid of players on loan and are in the bottom half of the table at present and so on,this story will no doubt be absolutely every where on the net as 100% correct sooner or later, its been annoying hearing liverpool fans say we are in admin right now etc when we are not.

Question 1. Yes. There are buyers out there. In fact had it recently confirmed that others had inquired

2. That depends on both parties and the due diligence at the club. But it would take 30 days and that fit and proper persons test - so it wouldn't be that low key, once Kenwright intimated the sale was to proceed.

3. They will, especially if the buyer - which you would presume would be the main criteria - had the resources for stadium redevelopment. Ultimately anyone who wants to buy that is the first thing they need to do and which Kenwright cannot do.

I've put money on a sale anyway.

Kenwright now needs to sell. Unlike before 2010. But thats not to suggest the club are in financial difficulty.

It is all well and good, saying we are not taking new contracts on for a reason, taking an educated guess that it may be to prep for a sale. Considering we was only meant to be in for 'Loans' that wouldnt really affect new owners would it....

But the cold hard facts are, this is NOW. Now we are lying 14th in the table, 5 points off relegation zone and have lost 3 senior players. Pienaar was inevitable, but getting rid of Yakubu and Vaughan without getting a single person back in (even on loan) is criminal.

Our squad is so small right now. If Saha gets injuries, we have Anichebe and Beckford as our only official strikers.

How is this helping us prep for a sale? Final league position alone is worth millions, difference between 14th and 8th is about 5million.
