It is all well and good, saying we are not taking new contracts on for a reason, taking an educated guess that it may be to prep for a sale. Considering we was only meant to be in for 'Loans' that wouldnt really affect new owners would it....

But the cold hard facts are, this is NOW. Now we are lying 14th in the table, 5 points off relegation zone and have lost 3 senior players. Pienaar was inevitable, but getting rid of Yakubu and Vaughan without getting a single person back in (even on loan) is criminal.

Our squad is so small right now. If Saha gets injuries, we have Anichebe and Beckford as our only official strikers.

How is this helping us prep for a sale? Final league position alone is worth millions, difference between 14th and 8th is about 5million.

The cold hard facts are that Moyes himself said he'd only bring people in that he thought he could use.

And if the loan fees being asked for were too high for people he could use - then that explains that.

my guess is that robert earl will buy enough of bills shares to get controlling interest. terry tesco will buy the rest in the summer.

I can think of tons of players that moved this window that I am sure Moyes could have used and I am sure Moyes was very much interested in some of the players that moved. Fact is he couldn't operate in the market due to lack of finance.

I personally believe we are more likely to see...

a ) Moyes leave. (i think Moyes needs to threaten to leave if nothing changes, if he has not already. Bill will not wanna be the man responsible for Everton losing the manager that has seen us back in the top half consistently this decade.)
b ) Fellaini sold.

This notion that Kenwright is preparing to sell...what's the evidence to back that up? Sales of players in a transfer window? Erm yes...and? The truth of the matter is that the club is in a poor condition financially and getting worse (soon to be confirmed later this month when the accounts are released). But Kenwright can struggle on for the next umpteen years by selling an 'asset' in a blue jersey each window as long as the manager he employs puts up with it and we dont fall through the trapdoor into the Championship. You're kidding yourself Damon: there's no inevitability about Kenwright slinging his unwanted hook in the near future.

The more likely scenario is that shortly we'll hear about another grand scheme from the board - some chimera like the rest of them - that will buy them more time by providing some positive PR. God knows what that will be, but there will be something announced as I've never known so much rebellion in the air as there's been in the last few weeks (even if that isn't yet translated into protest).

There isn't any! Problems arise when people start spewing out random quotes or figures as fact and some gullible fans then buy into it. Emails like the one that's started this thread up are very dangerous for the club. People get sucked into the lies and it unbalances their views. As fans we need to be able to talk openly and honestly and be able to approach the subject of the clubs future for at least some level of rationaility. These emails and falsified rumours are scaremongering and cause too much friction between the opposing sets of fans and mean that we never get close to really talking about the real issues, not the falsified ones.

I don't know who the op supports but this ain't the only forum he's posted this on and notably he has a low post count on every forum. Now call my cynical but this email smells of the ****e over the park trying to have a pop at our misfortune rather that any factual info that weve all discussed over the last month. There is simply no truth that the players have not been paid and the rest is simply conjecture.

Don't blame the Op mate or question who he supports, the email does exist and was sent to a Blueipper moderator that is meant to have a source in the club. Whether the email is total bullcrap or not remains to be seen though. I am sure the Op is just as much an evertonian as me or you and is just worried about the club.

I wasn't referring to the contents of the email - which may or may not be true/false. I was responding to the fanciful belief encouraged by a one poster on this thread that Kenwright is preparing an early exit. He should go, as any decent honourable man would, but he has options to stay, that was my point. He's not cornered yet...not by a long chalk.

I'm amazed that we can't afford to pay our players but we can afford to give both Anichebe and Coleman new contracts and significant payrises. The mind boggles. Call me a cynic but....

That wasn't aimed at you by the way, just following on from that point. Kind of got on my pedestal a little bit and started ranting into the void. For that I apologise, but I stand by my morals!!

For the record I fully agree with you about BK not being corned. I can't see him selling up, moper importantly I can't see why any sod would want to buy a football club anymore. No money to be made, the black hole that money is thrown into in the vain hope of success has just been made more vast this window. The worrying thing is that I honestly feel that anyone who does buy a football club nowadays has to have a screw loose, which doesn't bode well for our future.

Whoa there.

You're right - it's not the only forum I've posted on. I've also used Chuffedtobeblue (under another name) and bluekipper (under the same name), I've got about 5000 posts on chuffedtobeblue and just over 500 on bluekipper.

I support Everton - have done all my life and, until this season, have had a season ticket for about 10 years in the Park End.

To reiterate, that email is nothng to do with me. It was forwarded to me earlier today by a mate, who got it from someone else. It seems it originally comes from a moderator on bluekipper - again, not someone I know.

The sooner that financial restrictions and constraints come into play the better. The game should have never been allowed to get into this state. Football clubs should not be allowed to spend 150million and just report an operating loss of £100m at end of year, it is ridiculous.
