Amazing thread, can't believe I've not checked it out before now.
Someone posted a pic of Fly Geyser earlier in the thread, but I don't think it really did it justice:

The result of a Soviet gas exploration accident. A drilling rig fell into an underground cavern which caused noxious gas to be released. The Russians set fire to it, thinking it would burn off in a couple of days. 46 years later it's still burning:

I was there last week. There's a vineyard nearby called Rathfinny, and a local brewery called the Long Man. Both excellent.
