They could have funded the NHS by not spending £8m a day keeping immigrants in plush hotels or y not wasting over a billion on that idiotic test and trace farce when covid was on.

The stealth privatisation of the NHS by contracting work to the private sector takes far more money out of the health system than some Afghan lad sat in Knowsley Suites.

I've just read this about the new DWP laws. It's a quote from Big Brother Watch....

I'm assuming they've never been through an airport where there is an extremely high level of state surveillance and certainly no presumption of innocence.
People happily get body searched, bag searched and if needs be, cavity searched.
I wonder how many people would still be happy to fly if all that state surveillance was taken away.
Some will argue it's a very different scenario. Well yes, it is but it's there for exactly the same reason. It's there to search out the very small percentage of people that try to sneak things through the system.
