State of this thread ,catch a grip will ya.

Every club in the land be it proffessional, amateur, youth or junior have an end of season awards .

So you think we should be so different ?
Or just moan for moanings sake?

Honestly there's plenty of things to beat on the club about , but an end of season awards bash....seriously (n)

Spot on Tim, how someone can misread the public so badly and think this was a good idea (award to Tom Evans) is mind boggling. As has been stated if he was a rs fan he wouldn't have touched him with a barge pole and if it was the rs who gave him an award we would be ripping them to pieces. He should have awarded it to all the staff and patients at Alder Hey they will be around years after everyone has forgotten this abysmal chapter in Liverpool history. Wonder if he is aware of how uncomfortable many blues are about this.

Eh? They had mass protests against Hicks and Gillet. They drove Roy Hodgson out of the club.

The only difference between us and them, is they were successful in getting rid of their deadbeat owners, we’ve had ours at the helm for two decades.

They booed Sterling off the stage at their own award ceremony a few years ago.

Stoke cancelled theirs, we should have done the same.
In fairness Stoke look like they're going to get relegated. We look like we'll finish 8th.

What's actually happening here is a perfect example of a football club being out of touch with the feelings of the majority of its fans.

It isnt a new thing with Everton, but it does seem to be a lot worse than I've ever known it. Fans are looking to pick holes in everything the club does. Both on and off the pitch. Unfortunately the club is giving us plenty of ammunution at the monent.

The issue that I have with Alfie Evans’ dad being presented with a blue blood award, is the fact, that he started an all out war against the very establishment that was trying to make the end of his sons life as comfortable as possible. To the point where nurses and doctors were being labelled as murderers people driving past were being stopped if they didn’t beep their horn.

The hospital got stormed by [Poor language removed] idiots, and Alfie was under police guard because there was a threat that he was going to be taken. Now you could argue that he wasn’t involved in this, and in the most extreme cases he wasn’t there, however he started the action with his get out out on the streets comment, and it perpetuates from there. He could have stopped it at any time yet he chose not to.

I have sympathy for him for what has happened to his son, but the chaos he started and the abuse that ordinary people suffered not to mention all of the other patients being treated in the hospital, to be honest dampens my sympathy somewhat.

That’s why I don’t think he should be getting an award

It's been a difficult situation for everybody. And it's been an incredibly heavy responsibility for two young parents.

Yes, his efforts may have been mis-guided, but he has certainly had a lot of advice from people who should known much better.

You can criticise the steps he has taken, but you can hardly blame him for fighting to keep his son alive.

And I think he has made a sincere attempt at reconciliation with Alder Hey.

Should he receive an award - especially at a football ceremony? Perhaps not, but both parents should receive our support and sympathy.
