The difference between us

4 years ago spurs had a team made up of Kaboul, Huddleston, Parker, Dawson.

Last year we had a team that included Cleverly, Kone, McGeady

Things don’t happen over night and comparing a steadily progressing Spurs (4 years in the making) to us is as laughable as it gets

Four years ago we had a team containing Lukaku, Deolefeou, Stones, Barkley and Barry.

We are steadily regressing, not progressing.

;)

That @Nymzee fellow won't like you pointing that simple truism out, Tim.

He sticks his fingers in his ears when anyone plays that "broken record"

It's not that mate it's just we know we sold Lukaku, we know he was good, we know we haven't replaced him. We knew this 2 months ago so why do people keep bringing it up like it's something we can change in October? No one brings up us selling Stones anymore do they.

Watched Ath Madrid v Chelsea in the week and thought Jeez we are way way off this standard of footie then after watching Chelsea get left off lightly by City yesterday I was thoroughly depressed.

Burnley at home today , please ,please cheer me up  COYB

I'm still sore about selling Stones too mate. He's been superb this season. Replacing him with Fat Ashley hasn't helped by resentment.

Just because you don't want to hear it does not mean people will stop saying it.

We are entitled to vent, wether it suits you or not.

It was a ridiculous decision and I cannot understand how it does not infuriate you the way it does most Evertonians, both here on GOT and at the match this afternoon.

The want of a striker is the main reason we find ourselves in our current malaise.

And it was totally avoidable.

(though if there is a God up there, Oumar will blossom over the coming months )

I just wish people would stop saying it because it's utterly pointless now that the window has closed.

Just this. Yeah we didn’t bring in a striker and we sold Lukaku for £75m. Can’t change any of that now so it’s irrelevant. Change the record now, it’s getting boring.

They're clearly a better team than us but one of the biggest differences for me is everything they do goes forward. They rarely go backwards with passes, every player (including centre halves) looks up and looks for a positive pass. Watched their game yesterday and they are miles ahead of us from that perspective.

Kane and Lukaku situations very different but I agree we should be using Spurs as a blueprint on how to establish top 6
Long as we dont use spuds as a blueprint on how to win anything....yes we need things to change of course, but the eternal bottlers???? Nah dont think so

The worrying thing is that could be applied to Burnley and any number of middle to lower sides as well.
