The difference between us and them

They may of been halcyon days on the pitch but off it ??? Not in my book . I prefer the hatred and I'll never understand why you'd want to watch the enemy at their ground surrounded by them beauts when we aren't playing . It's bad enough looking at them from the away end . The utter mutants . Stick the friendly Derby up yer hoop . ( not you personally Khal)

This was all in the long passed days when football was a sport....

Oh absolutely.....though as @degsy says, the old time Kopite was a totally different breed from the modern mutation of the species.

I had an uncle of mine changed allegiance when Dave Hickson signed for them then changed back again when he rejoined us.

And apparently there were many did the same.

I could never understand that type of thinking but it was no big thing to my dad and other gentlemen of his matchgoing acquaintance.

As someone once said.....the past is another country. They did things differently then :)
fair play mate

I have been supporting Everton since the 1970s.
A great weekend is Everton winning and Liverpool losing.
Even a weekend where we lose the disappointment is tempered by a Liverpool loss.
Four years of relegation for them would thrill me enormously.

That said, I have plenty of friends who support Liverpool and they are all good people . As clubs go Liverpool is probably no better or worse than most others , it is just they are our near neighbours and we love to see them fail.

However, I do not believe in the we are better or worse argument , they are made up of good people and some not so good, as are we.
I wish them every success as long as it doesn't involve winning games.

Ah, the halcyon days when our dads and grandads went Goodison one week, Anfield the next :)

An era which was finally laid to rest when Emlyn rotten Hughes stood on the steps at St. George's Hall in 1977
Terry Mcs golden shower didnt help dampen the flames either

This 100%. I tend to find a lot of their OOT support are whoppers. However I'm not sure that's just LFC, but rather what glory hunting OOT support is like generally. They just happen to have a lot of them.

Podcasts such as the Anfield Wrap are always interesting to have a listen too. Generally created by local lads, quite balanced and done with a sense of humour. I know a lot of reds who fall into that category. Generally a lot of their regular match goers are good lads and they too are a bit bemused with whats been allowed to happen to their club.

Hate to be that guy here, But.....

We won a game for the first time in ages, we should be buzzing, not immediately talking about the kopites eh? bit embarrassing to be honest to win a game and then resort to comparing cocks with them lot.

Buzz about the win, don't be bringing them lot into it.

Yeah, One game at a time hey lids

Wait, well what do you know, our next game IS against them

I on the other hand don't mind one bit being 'that guy here' so it gets a big tick in the 'Valid thread as we play them in a few days' box...lets face it - they are gobshights - and they seem to be getting worse.
