The difference between us and them

Ah, the halcyon days when our dads and grandads went Goodison one week, Anfield the next :)

An era which was finally laid to rest when Emlyn rotten Hughes stood on the steps at St. George's Hall in 1977
Pretty much.
Though I was one of those Anfield visitors on more than one occasion per season, but as you said, different days.

The blues are better at getting the ale in, my mate runs a pub and takes hundreds more when our away games are shown compared to them, they will generally turn up right on kick off, buy a half a lager, make it last the whole game then vanish at the final whistle where the blues will be in there early, get a few rounds in during the game and have a few afterwards, win lose or draw.

i know mate, i'm just seeing it as us winning a game finally, and a good win at that and the very next day threads like this are resorting to mentioning them

Think there is a difference between everton are boss threads and 'lets compare ourselves to liverpool' threads.

Shouldn't really be doing that now, should be made up beating arsenal TBH
I'm not really resorting to anything mate, don't let it spoil your celebrations.

For the record, I couldn't even wait for the next day to start this post. It's still Wednesday in North Queensland.

to be honest mate it seems a bit small time to be talking about kopites after last night.

Should be buzzing off a win, not even thinking of them never mind comparing with them.

FYI here, they beat arsenal as well, and beat more teams than us so far and having a much better season! So certainly before the derby is played i'd wind it in a little bit even thinking of them.

You are clearly buzzing off married life .....

Such is a symptom of the hubris that comes with success I suppose

Future generations were brought up on it, hence why we are where we are today

I know what you mean, while they haven't helped, much of 'where we are today' can be laid at our own doorstep.
I've no Idea which, in the greater scheme of things, worse. The way we have become 'Institutionalised' or the way they have.
Them on reflection - see below.

They may of been halcyon days on the pitch but off it ??? Not in my book . I prefer the hatred and I'll never understand why you'd want to watch the enemy at their ground surrounded by them beauts when we aren't playing . It's bad enough looking at them from the away end . The utter mutants . Stick the friendly Derby up yer hoop . ( not you personally Khal)

Oh absolutely.....though as @degsy says, the old time Kopite was a totally different breed from the modern mutation of the species.

I had an uncle of mine changed allegiance when Dave Hickson signed for them then changed back again when he rejoined us.

And apparently there were many did the same.

I could never understand that type of thinking but it was no big thing to my dad and other gentlemen of his matchgoing acquaintance.

As someone once said.....the past is another country. They did things differently then :)

Hate to be that guy here, But.....

We won a game for the first time in ages, we should be buzzing, not immediately talking about the kopites eh? bit embarrassing to be honest to win a game and then resort to comparing cocks with them lot.

Buzz about the win, don't be bringing them lot into it.

Fully agree ;)

@Ashtonian the voice of reason. What is the world coming to :blush:
Must be something to do with married life.
