The Derby is coming

I'm praying we don't bend over as usual in this game. Don't fear them don't bow to the occasion play for everton for once and for us fans who have had it bad against them.

No this time it's different.

I know we've said the same about every derby for the past few years and still haven't beaten them, but this time it really is!

If we don't win by at least 3 goals the referee will be to blame, we're just so much better than them it's untrue.

Rodgers doesn't know what his best team is anymore and they're suffering.

3 at the back? 4 with 2 new full backs, still adapting to the league, and who like to go forward but when they do centre mids don't cover.

If they go solid in the centre with Gerrard, Henderson and Lucas they lack creativity - if they drop Lucas it's easier to get at them.

Balotelli signing reminds me of when Newcastle signed Asprilla. Good player, trying their best to fit him in but doesn't suit their system. Lambert would do well for them but he won't play him.

Without Suarez there is far less to worry about

Cant see them playing Gerrard, Henderson and Lucas next week, how many times does Rogers need to learn that those three don't work together? They do have a few other players who could come in such as Lallana, plus Markovic (is he injured) hopefully Sturridge wont be back for the derby but they do lack a defensive midfielder. You are spot on about he doesn't know his best 11, last season, it was the same 11 every week.

Going into the game I'd quite happily take a draw but something in me keeps saying we'll take all three. History stands against me but I'll go with my gut. 3-1 to us.

I just hope we go for it. Nothing worse than actually giving them an actual reason to gloat (cos they don't need one anyway).

I think if we do go for it, with the way both teams are playing, we could blitz them and have 2 or 3 goals inside half an hour.

That's not what I'm saying will happen though... not a clue as always (and a sinking feeling as always)

Liverpool are struggling against teams that are not open and attacking. Liverpools strength has been counter attacking against open teams like Spurs. Liverpool were actually dominating possession against Man City yet got beat. Soton were actually the better and more open team against Liverpool and got done. We just have to be a little careful with our bombing on of Baines and Coleman as they will look to exploit the gaps left. If we go toe to toe with them it will be a high scoring game and I think Mirallas will be our key attacker with McCarthy and Barry hopefully covering Baines and Coleman with good affect will see us through. Sterling puts the sh!ts up me though

what is it 4 wins in 15 years? I am immune to getting hurt by getting beat by them these days, it makes no difference i still go out and have a pint the pain last about 10 minutes and turns to anger at our team/manager for letting us down again. After losing the Semi to them nothing will ever compare to that.

However beating them still brings you the best joy you can have in football. If you look at our record the 4 times we have beat them we have kept a clean sheet. Thats imperative.

That's a great story - welcome aboard!

I was just loving being able to use glory hunter about my own club for the first time in my life! lol

My first game was in '87, but my first memories of games was around 1990, so I have been though only the bad times with no good times to shout about (1995 aside).

Obviously our success coinciding with my support.

Obviously.

they'll rush Sturridge in.
Agreed. The daftest part Is that in doing the same last season, and salvaging a point at Goodison, he then missed the next few games in which they dropped silly points. This cost them the league :) For all the significance it is still only, in the bigger picture, the same prize as beating Palace today.
