I am shocked to only now find that Emma Chambers is dead at 53. Good Lord. 6 of the main actors have gone.

Guy Sajer died today aged 94, French cartoonist.
He wrote a very famous book called Forgotten Soldier about his experiences serving with the Wehrmacht on the Russian front, most people who read about WW2 history will know it.

Sad to hear that. My grandad had that book and I read it after he died, an incredibly powerful book.

edit: speaking of such types who wrote their accounts of that war, I didn’t realise until recently that Victor Gregg had passed last year
