Only us oldies would remember him. Old school commentator. Before the RS and Sky 6 love in.
This.
Iconic on “The Big Match” in the 60’s & 70’s. Brian Moore doing the London game, Gerald Sinstadt in the North West and Hugh Johns in the Midlands.
All excellent in a time when Football on TV focussed on the Football.
RIP Gerald Sinstadt.

Always liked listening to him, a class commentator.

Sad news, two bits of Everton commentary by him that were great, both in the late 70s,a game against Stoke when Bob Latchford scores a brilliant header from a cross by Ronny Goodlass ("now that's football!"),and for big Bob's brilliant volley against against Coventry ("what a glorious goal!")and a mention also of his calling out the booing of West Broms black players in that memorable 5-3 win they had at Old Trafford. Anyway, they're all worth watching again on YouTube.
