I'm no fan of country music but he had a fine voice. After all these years I listened to the lyrics of Ruby and actually had a lump in my throat.

Absolutely. I'm not a musical snob, but I grew up surrounded by so much awful country music that I let my bias blind me to some great stuff for years.

Bit gutted about Kenny Rogers tbh. As a kid I grew up in a different country and one of my fondest memories was sometimes after school finished my mum would take me to a Kenny Rogers restaurant and his food was so delicious. Loved his chicken.
