RIP Doddy
Fantastic comedian who was one of the very best at what he did. He wrote great original material and had perfect comedy timing. He worked hard for his success and had a passion for studying the history of comedy and other comedians throughout the years.
My personal opinion of him as an individual however is clouded by an incident way back in 1964. I was a 10 year old and one of a group of similar aged kids who ran excitedly up to his car as he turned into the car park of a local club where he was appearing. Hoping for an autograph, we were met instead by him winding the window down and telling us to "f*** off away from the car"

*Could have been worse TBF. . . . . at least he didn't spit at us.

People die every single day, and we have a habit of widely celebrating the celebrities who die, and I normally don't partake in that.

Stephen Hawking is something completely different. We have lost one of the greatest minds to have ever lived, and possible the greatest mind of recent history.

His loss will be felt, but his achievements will also be felt....and for years still to come.

I remember one of his wishes was to go into space.....go into orbit. He was never able to realise that dream, but he did get a shot in the 'vomit comet' where he got to experience weightlessness. And his reaction was fantastic. A real look of joy:

Quite gutted about this.

One of the finest minds the world has ever seen and a true inspiration to millions.

One can only imagine what this man could have achieved if he didn’t have such a debilitating illness, even though he accomplished so much anyway.

He was only given two years to live aged 21. A true genius and British great.
The film theory of everything is well worth a watch.
