Must admit, I thought it was Mobile, but Google lied.

If I had to actually guess, I would have said Mobile Army Support Hospital.
There was one episode that started, as my foggy memory recalls, with Radar stating that Major Burns had discovered that the M stood for mobile, and so had made tge entire camp up sticks and move 50 yards down the road.

I've worked for a few head teachers who were like that.

I just googled it to get a "like".

In the film, iirc, it was called "mobile".

Surreal few pages in the Dead Thread either way!

David Ogden Stiers, who played Major Charles Winchester in M*A*S*H* has gone to the mobile army surgical hospital in the sky.

The wummery between him, Hawkeye, Hunnicut and Hotlips Hoolihan, was sublime.

Top quality writing, with actors who complimented each other perfectly.

I still watch Mash on a regular basis and it`s just as funny today, as it was then.

Wow not really a good day for some.

A great character in M*A*S*H brought a little refinement to the situation RIP

...a major reason why my daughter became a surgeon. Throughout her school days we watched the old MASH repeats because she loved them. Brilliant TV because it’s timeless. Just had a FaceTime with her and Winchester got a mention. RIP Fella and thanks for more than the memories.
