There was one episode that started, as my foggy memory recalls, with Radar stating that Major Burns had discovered that the M stood for mobile, and so had made tge entire camp up sticks and move 50 yards down the road.Must admit, I thought it was Mobile, but Google lied.
If I had to actually guess, I would have said Mobile Army Support Hospital.

A great character in M*A*S*H brought a little refinement to the situation RIP

The wummery between him, Hawkeye, Hunnicut and Hotlips Hoolihan, was sublime.
Top quality writing, with actors who complimented each other perfectly.
I still watch Mash on a regular basis and it`s just as funny today, as it was then.
