Absolute A-lister Gene Hackman. Growing up, he’s probably up there with a group of actors who you just knew that what ever film he was in, it would be worth a watch.

Personal favourites, Enemy of the State and Crimson Tide.

The whole thing is super sad. I wonder if it’s carbon monoxide poisoning similar to what happened to the tennis player Vitus Geraulitis (sp?). Improperly installed propane heater

You knew if he was in it, the there was good chance the flick was gonna be decent.

He always came across as the sort of bloke who'd buttonhole you in a pub and rattle on about railway engines for hours.
He held his place in the eggheads team who were all contrasting characters - a great show in its heyday.
