Spanish paper Sport have reported the horrific news that Modric’s cousin was kidnapped and killed while she was working in El Salvador.

Her body was found in the boot of a car.

Susana Modric, 40 years old, was kidnapped on Monday. Her body was found two days later.

The motive for the murder remains unknown, while the police have opened an investigation.

Susana Modric had reportedly been living in El Salvador for six years. She leaves behind two children.
