Fantastic as Evil in Time Bandits, but so many memorable roles. He always delivered whether it was a massive production (Titanic, Star Trek(s)) or a low budget genre flick or voiceover. Properly brilliant actor, RIP fella.

I remember him in the Larry Sanders Show as an autocratic network executive with the power to cancel TV shows, end careers etc. They were all scared of him dropping by!

Apparently his Hamlet was sensational.

He had a role in Steve Martin's goofy comedy 'The Man with Two Brains' and he played it straight as a die as if it were Hamlet. I doubt he could phone in a performance even if he wanted to.

There would be no Good Friday Agreement without him and John Hume. It cost him and the UUP dearly but it given us years of relative peace. RIP.
