Henny Vrienten, died today aged 73.
A Dutch bassist who rose to fame playing in Doe Maar (a ska band), but more recently was part of Vreemde Kostgangers with the guitarist from Golden Earring.

Big fan, i own about a dozen of his albums. X, Moondawn and Cyborg are the big 3 for me. Raw uncompromising stuff.

Later work with Lisa Gerrard et al is milder, smoother, cleaner, friendlier. Dreamy.

With almost 50 albums under his belt - and with countless modern electronica artists influenced by his music - i'd say he had a decent innings.

His final piece is based off the new Dune film, will be released posthumously now.
