Just watched a tribute to him on Channel 4 he said he hoped the Stones would either fade away or grind to a halt in a nice way.
I can see them rocking on but it will be sad not seeing Charlie on the sticks.

Him and Wyman were a bit older than the others and had been around the block musically - notably in jazz playing.
But to me his beat marked out the Stones sound. Keith will be particularly sad. He always turned to him on stage and they had a close bond.
