I was shocked to hear about Les Mckeown snuffing it. Me & the missus were at a concert a couple of years ago at the M&S arena watching him, Suzi Quattro, Smokie, & David Essex all performing their 70's hits. It brought back memories of a girlfriend of mine when I was a young lad. She was a big Bay City Rollers fan & I was taking the mickey out of her because of the way young girls screamed & went hysterical at even the mention of their name. She shut me up big time when she reminded me how I screamed & went hysterical every time Everton scored a goal. She didn't even know about the male hugging & kissing that went on too when we scored

Read When the Screaming Stopped - book about the Rollers and their monstrous manager Tam Paton. Not an edifying story.
They didn't make much money at all, their manager ripped them off big time, Alan Longmuir the bassist who died a couple of years ago lived near me and was a plumber for many years, they got together about 4 years ago for about half a dozen gigs as a bit of a swansong but all fell out again.

Very possibly the worst group the U.K. has ever produced....though I was shocked to hear he was 65, thought they were a bit younger tbh.....
Agree totally mate but they were massive at the time and it's a shame they were taken advantage of as basically kids 17/18 and were paid a pittance whilst Tom Paton their manager lived in luxury, there was a programme a few years ago where McKeown confronted him and asked him straight where the money was and he just got fobbed off, yes they were really bad but it's still a sad story.
