I'm actually very saddened by this news. I don't know why, but i just feel sad. As has been said ,the last manager of any sort of decency and integrity, who managed that other lot. Of course he had heart surgery as well, during his time at anfield. Villa fans gave him a hard time of it, which i thought was unfair.
That was when Randy Learner, was downsizing operations, and cutting his funding into the club. I suppose he deserves respect for coping on to the fact that Robbie Fowler, was a wrong un and he subsequently sent him packing from anfield. He just came across to me as a very nice bloke, and that's all i have to say really. RIP Gérard Houllier.
