Sad to hear about Tim Brooke-Taylor. He was a local lad down here, living in Cookham. I was a member at Winter Hill Golf Club in Cookham for a short time while waiting for my membership at Sonning to come through. (Used to be long waiting lists in the 1980's). Tim Brooke-Taylor was a member at Winter Hill. Very keen golfer and did a lot for the club. Very nice guy, no side to him at all. Did a lot of charity work in the Berkshire area, Maidenhead, Windsor, Cookham. RIP.

I used to work in Cookham, used to have beer crawl of, I think then, nine pubs, ending at The Railway Tavern. Did it once going back, never again. :) Sadly, I believe a lot of the pubs have closed.
