I thought that I read he was from Merseyside. I’m struggling to reconcile this.

He's old school and I think he was a fan before they became a tourist attraction. He liked Alton Towers too though so I'm not so sure...
 

Nice fella by all accounts. Used to be a bus conductor before he went into journalism.

One lady asked him “is this bus going to Speke”?

He replied “it hasn’t said anything so far”.
He was also a pupil at Dovedale Road primary school along with Lennon...my old school--10 years later than Peter I may add.

Him and Lennon were involved in an accident after hiring Kayaks on a school trip to Lake Windermere, they fortunately managed to swim ashore after sinking their craft when Sissons turned.to Lennon and said "Ah well that's the end of the canoes and now for the weather"
