Born in Smithdown Road Hospital and attended Liverpool Institute at same time as George Harrison and Paul McCartney.
And was at the Liverpool institute with our very own Uncle Bill Kenwright.

Nice fella by all accounts. Used to be a bus conductor before he went into journalism.
He was also a pupil at Dovedale Road primary school along with Lennon...my old school--10 years later than Peter I may add.
Him and Lennon were involved in an accident after hiring Kayaks on a school trip to Lake Windermere, they fortunately managed to swim ashore after sinking their craft when Sissons turned.to Lennon and said "Ah well that's the end of the canoes and now for the weather"
