He was meant to tour that album tomorrow, Woods were the backing band. It's was such a good comeback.

Probably the only person I still listen to from when I was 15 or so. Listened to silver Jews (because of the name) before sonic youth, pavement etc.

I'm a latecomer to his work unfortunately - never got onto Silver Jews but love a lot of their peers (Pavement, Mountain Goats, Lambchop etc)

Saddens me that I'll only now start listening to his back catalogue now he's gone - makes me feel like some sort of grief hunter - and the only album that's allowed to do that is 'A Crow Looked At Me'

Horrible isn’t it. When one of your heroes and/or similarly aged favourites goes. The Beastie Boys are my all-time favourite band, and Adam Yauch went at, what, 47? So much good music that will never be made, shared and appreciated.
