Ah lads, Bill O'Herlihy just passed away. Won't mean anything to the Brits, but the Irishmen on here will know that this guy knew how to chair a footballing panel. For a few years there, he presided over the best analysis team on TV imo, although it got a little tired in the couple of seasons before his retirement. We'll leave it there so.

Bill was a great guy and refereed the 3 amigos so brilliantly. Loved it when he played dumb but was cleverer than them all put together. RIP Bill never forgotten

In a sense it's not surprising given his noted alcohol issues, but that's still no age to go at all, and must have been quite sudden considering he was still campaigning for his seat at the last election.
