Argentine midfielder Camilo Nuin has died during knee surgery.​

The 18-year-old played for second division side San Telmo since 2022 following spells at the Boca Juniors and Independiente youth academies.

The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.

"It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Camilo Ernesto Nuin, a player in our youth and reserve divisions, who was undergoing surgery today."

Not that strange if he had a reaction to the anesthesia. It's far more common than you'd think and is often the most dangerous part of surgery, especially routine stuff like this.
