A man struggling to open an Everton mint!

Any wonder we are fckued?

This guy of course was the manager of Benfica when they won the 1961 and 1962 European Cups. He wanted a pay rise from the Benfica board of directors.

They refused to give it to him and he then quit. Apparently he is supposed to have said not even in a hundred years from now, will Benfica ever be european champions again.

Since then Benfica have lost the 1963, 1965, 1968, 1988 and 1990 European Cup Finals. You can add three Uefa Cup/Europa League finals into the mix as well 1983, 2013 and 2014.

So is this run of ill luck in finals because of the curse or are Benfica just a bit unlucky? They still haven't lost as many finals as Juventus though.

Juventus have a record of nine appearances in Champions League finals and have only won two of them. A final between Juve and Benfica would probably end up with neither club winning it!lol

don’t you erm you know.. we are cursed?

At least both Benfica and Juventus can consistently get teams into european finals. If only Everton could've went to the well that often in Europe!

The new Conference League thing is a realistic goal for us when the club hopefully stabilises. Anyway yes indeed, our curse is called the Bill Kenwright curse mate!😱

Not a patch on the curse of Biddy Early
They say the Mayo football team are cursed as well. On the way back home after winning the 1951 all Ireland, the team passed a church where a funeral service was being held in.

The team didn't stop and call in to pay their respects, and apparently the priest doing the funeral put a curse on them!

It could very well be true considering all the all Ireland final disasters, that have happened to Mayo over the years! Mayo's record since their last all Ireland win is 13 appearances in finals for a record of 2 draws and 11 defeats.
