...but had Coleman or Williams conceded the pen the question wouldn't have been asked. Ridiculous thread.

Wouldn't say it's a ridiculous thread, debate is healthy. It's not as if our opinions are going to make a difference anyway. Coleman for me. If he's been chosen as captain for his country then he should be good enough to be selected for Everton too.

..I just think there have been similar threads and often there is a knee jerk reaction to a Jagielka mistake. Had he not brought about a penalty I reckon this thread wouldn't have been started.

Coleman seems to have thrived as captain of Ireland, he seems the obvious choice once Jagielka hangs up his boots. Williams potentially would have the same issues as Jags within a few years.

We need to sign a superstar with a winning mentality who is 27 or younger and can be a long term captain and drive us to success.

Tony Kay, Peter Reid, and Andy Gray were three of the best captains the club ever had, you don't have to be captain to urge
the other players on or give them a kick up the backside if they are not pulling their weight, and there are quite a few players not pulling their weight in the present team, only Williams and Coleman can be seen giving the " verbals" out.

Barkley is too quiet. Rom is leaving. Barry will retire.

so out of your choices its either Coleman, Williams or Baines

Baines for me is injury prone and has lost his ability of late.

So either Coleman or Williams
Are you one of those people that go on TV quiz shows and go all round the houses before giving an answer?. Even then you sat on the fence. C'mon man give us your choice:)

Williams for me.

Coleman's form hasn't been as good as it has been in the past but I he stands up to be counted. I am not a great believer in the importance of a captain, but as we need one I would take Coleman unless Jags returns to form.
