The Bubble Has Burst

It was coming sooner or later and now it's happened. Maybe not quite how we expected but the financial bubble of English football has well and truly burst.
For how many years have we said the following;
- players are paid far too much:
- transfer fees are at a ridiculous level:
- it costs far too much to watch football:
- we are at the mercy of Sky's millions.
- the financial gulf between the leagues is getter bigger.

Remember the disaster when Moysie didn't get the mancs into Europe? Not because of the prestige but because of the multi million pound shortfall in the accounts.
We are just as guilty as the other 91 league clubs in my opinion.
Too much money going straight into the pockets of overrated players at the cost of the fans and financial stability.
This is a massive wake up call and football is not a special case.

I don't know if THE bubble has burst, but despite all the usual suspects trying to put it back together as quick as posssible. A bubble has burst.

The Old normal is gone and a new one is on its way.
In ways we can't even see yet, The Law of Unintended Consequences will be all over this.

With clubs being on the verge of going out of business, and as the aim of FPP was to prevent this, will FPP now be binned off to encourage new money to come into the game ?

Not just football, seems every sport is entirely reliant on TV money to be solvent.

Like air travel, perhaps some good will come out of this

The PL in particular needs a massive jolt to the balls, a serious dose of reality. Majority of companies will suffer unfortunately. But the PL is a vile, corporate, money hungry entity. Personally, I hope it fails and have done for years

Fingers crossed mate.
Football could do with a hard reset.

Dump it all, and get shut of those Premier league idiots.
FA to start it up again with Divisions 1 to 4. 22 teams in Divisions 1 & 2
If the Sky 6 want to set up on their own, so be it.
Lob VAR in the Mersey.
All games on Saturday 3.00pm or Wednesday 7.30pm.
Re-instate the FA Cup properly
Impose sensible admission charges and players wage levels commensurate. If the Johnny Foreigners don't like it, then off they go.
Reinstate the Home Nations games.

And bring back hooliganism.

They will fudge it somehow to stop debt free, profitable clubs investing their own money into the club but allow debt ridden history clubs to do so - just like they do now. FFP will have to be eased in someway. They have no choice. It's going to be very interesting to see what they propose and how they frame it...
