Prior to this it was just 1-11 on the pitch and depended on who was picked. That's why Reid, Stevens etc aren't on the list - they never had an assigned squag number although they are obviously remembered for wearing 6 and 2 respectively. I'd prefer it if it was just favourite players to wear a particular number though - most of our best players played before squad numbers came in.
