The best team

Im serious about Neville he was one of the telling factors of our win on Sun, much of the stick is unfair, that said hes a brutal midfeilder. He never exactly comes out and says i want to play centre midfield he does the job hes asked to do which is admirable, he is an absolutely high quality full back though.

My team would be:

-------------Howard

Neville----Yobo----Jags------Lescott

-------------Castillo----------

Arteta-------Fellini-----------Pienarr

-------------Cahill------------------

--------------Yak------------------

Subs:
Baines
Hibbo
Osman
Vaughan
Rodwell
Nash
Saha

Now thats not a bad looking squad is it?

One worry would be Lecott playing at Left back is it really a good thing having all our CB playing hopefully 60 games a season i can see Baines coming into a rotation system with Jo playing against the Stokes, Pompeys and Leiges.

Ossie and Fellini it hink will rotate i think we wont see the best of Fellini for a full season.

if Saha can styay fit its a straight battle for the lone striker role, having said that i like the flexibility of reverting to a 4-4-2 or even a 4-3-3 with Vic proving so good on the right on Sun. If we had gotten that Obina Lad we would be laughing right now, who knows maybe Jan. Who said we needed 7 players!

High quality and neville are words that never have been used together and never should ever be used together in the future. He is an awful awful player who would struggle in the championship never mind the prem. He had a half decent game by his 'standards' and i emphasise his standards. It certainly didn't come close to high quality and he never will. He should nothing more than a mouthpiece for the club and even that needs to be turned down a notch or 10 as his constant bull is really beginning to grate

To be fair to our Phil, I don't think he necessarily contacts people to get himself in the papers or on the OS. I think people keep getting him to make comments about things. Hence the the astronomical amount of quotes attributed to him.

So you're saying Castillo and Fellaini have proven themselves above Osman?

Hard to accept to me...

I'd say he's a must for me. He can play across every position in the midfield and he has an eye for goals.

Exactly my point earlier mate, the truth is we don't know how effective either Fellaini or Castillo are going to be for us? But we do know that Osman is a consistent perfomer with an eye for goal.

Surely we need to look at our new signings for a couple of months before deciding they are both the dog's bollocks because we paid a lot of money for them, or may pay a lot for in Castillo's case

I would have thought the papers would be interested in the quotes of rio, gallas, terry or gerrard but no its apparently our phil there interested in

If he was as bad as you make out. Tell me why Ferguson, countless England managers an Moyes have always picked him?

Also tell me. Have you ever seen him go missing in a match? Especilly when the chips are down, he's always involved. I wish some of are other players had his attitude.

Still my 1st team RB.

1st) No idea why he has been picked, some slip through the net like ablett and neville. 2nd) Every game against his 'mates' united he goes missing. Constantly backs off opposition wingers and cant tackle

Sorry HB your wrong.

Fair enough on the ball at times he's awful. But he never sherks his responsabilitys. He always throwing tackles in an getting involved. He sorts the team out when needed. An is the only player we seem to have with a mouth....

Are back 4 are silent at times. Jags is starting to have a go, but not that much yet.

Tell me HB who would you.

1. Replace him with in the squad?

2. Buy to replace him an hibbo?

No one really pipes up in the game which gets on my goat sometimes.

Like the handball against Stoke. Neville was in there pushing both both teams players away from the reff while he had a word. Afterwards there wasnt any real protest.

I hate it when teams do have a go at the reff on mass, but there's a difference between shouting up over an offence and doing nothing, which is what we do half the time then crack on with the game. Your Chelsea's and the like go apeshit, and 8 out of 10 times Reff's buckle under the pressure.

Now I'm not saying we start having a go at reff's, but I do think the peno's we never got last season that were stonewallers could've been given if the rest of the team all jumped in irrate and had a say.

Reff's make split second decisions. Instant pressure and a team pulling up a foul makes him more certain of decision I feel. Reff's are human afterall so some basic psychology helps a lot -- the top 4 do it all the time.

Neville is a good right back and captain. He hasnt had that many cock ups, He gives his all all match, and tbh he is a good defender, and he is good going up. You dont see too many people get past Neville, and Neville works well with Arteta down the right, and puts in some great crosses. He can have a great run one or two times aswell...

Ill never hate him after what he did in the Derby, fantastic. So fantastic im about to burst into song:

Phil Neville, Super Star, Hes won more medals than Steve Gerrard

Spot on mate...

TBH i think HB just has a crush on him.

You know like when you were a kid in school. An you always hated the girl you fancied!!

A high quality fullback.

He's decent and he does a reasonable job there, I thought he played well against Stoke but there's no doubting alot of the time he's the current weak link in the side. Not an awful weak link but the least gifted player in our starting eleven without a doubt. The player who is the most likely to knock the ball over our midfield instead of playing to there strengths.

At the moment though I'd say he's the best fullback at the club by a little bit, there isn't a massive difference between him and Hibbert despite what people say.

We should be looking at a younger more athletic fullback in the summer, a more rounded fullback.

Sorry Sharpy, i am totally right, Neville is a joke of a player.

He is always shirking out of a challenge, he backs off until someone else comes and makes the challenge or the winger gets the cross in.

1) Hibbo - The lad can defend and the way were conceding at the moment someone who can actually defend is a must. We will have to put up with his wayward crossing
2) Name a competent right back? Take your pick sharpy there isnt many i wouldnt have instead of neville

No one needs to get past him as he stands about 5-10yds from the player so they can just get the cross in. Awful defender.

What did he do in the derby to get you so excited then?

As for that song, its f**king embarrasing. Lets sing about united winning trophies!:@
