The Best Big Belgian We Know!

I don't think so, Neil. At least not if we're discussing which man had the better footballing abilities. But like I said, Keane brought things to the table Viera didn't.

Gazza probably had more footballing ability then both, but isnt a better player then both. Riqulmie has more footballing ability then Viera or Keane, but wont be remembered or revered as much as either.

What makes a better player, their technical ability, or the other charicteristics. Castillo probably has more ability then Carsley but who is the better player.

Viera had more technical ability but for tenacity, aggression, drive and the impact on a team or a generation of players its Keane all the way the biggest compliment to him is that Utd never needed a new Robson, there still looking for a new Keane.

Keane was a leader amongst some trully great players, he came up against all his peers in European football and left them all found wanting, Viera inclusive.

Plus Viera's done nothing from 28 onwards.

Players peak at different ages, between 20 and 29 Vieira was excellent, one of the best central midfielders in Europe. The best in my opinion.

He had the same impact at Arsenal that Keane did at Man utd. Arsenal fans would tell you exactly that, they still haven't replaced him and have won nothing since. Since Keane left Man utd have won quite a few trophies, the Champions League aswell.

Also Keane played in a better side with far more money. Vieira didn't have the expensively assembled team around him like Keane did.

Both technically and physically Vieira was in a different League to Keane. They where both great captains and they where both winners, there's not much difference in that area.

Vieira all the way for me, Keane was a great player though. Just not at Vieira's level.

Not sure he was just past his peak mate almost all central midfeilders are at their peak at this time. I would have to say he has struggled being a big fish out of a small pond.

Not sure if id agree with the money thing either mate, Keane was at the head of that great team that mostly came through the ranks at Utd so thats a little unfair, equally Arsenal spent a fair few on the likes of Petit, Overmars, Lauran, Henry, Bergkamp etc. I do agree though Ferguson did assemble his team around Keane. each team he built was built around him.

Your right in an awfull lot you say about Veira's attributes i wouldnt say he was more mobile but certainly quicker i dont think i ever saw a player with a bigger or better engine then Keane before or even still, Viera reilied on his pace an awfull lot whic may be one of the reasons we have seen a decline in his ability form 29 onwars. Keane read the game far more better he closed down space in the right areas and organised his team better. He was by far the better captain. I saw him single handly take apart the Juventus team, then European Championships in the Champions Leuge Semi Final after being behind from 2-0 down all in the knowledge that he wouldnt be in the final himself, scoring two goals and his play was absolutley immaculate. I saw him play against, Redondo, Makelie, Nedved, Zidane, Desailly, Effenberg, Sammer and Matteuis all in their pomp and leave them wanting.

I cant say that about Viera.

Although trully a great player, and probably blessed wiith a better technichal ability then Keane, there a re things Keane had such as drive, reading, tenacity, aggression, fearlessness and ability to read and understand a game that Viera had but not to the extent that Keane did. Its a pity he was an absolute nutter and i agree did some, questionable things, but anyone who had the privalage to see him play will tell you it will be a long time before you see a layer like him again. If ever.

I always felt he bettered Viera and left more of a mark on his club and career then viera ever did or is ever likely to.

Its all opinions though.

I always felt Vieira bossed him to be honest.

Keane was king of the hill until Vieira came along, it all changed then.:P

I also seen Vieira rip apart many great teams, both domestically and at international level. As you say it's all about opinions.

Keane was almost the complete midfielder, i could'nt say that about Viera although he too was a fine player.

What did Keane have over Vieira? Not much if anything at all.

In my opinion, Keane was a much better captain. I dont feel there was too much between them, but Keane edges Viera for me. Was'nt particularly keen on the lad but he was outstanding at his best.

We're going to be big in Belgium!!!!! Well or what's left of Belgium after 1/2 the country splits.

you're bigger in belgium already since fellaini joined, people are just happy we've a player in england :p then again thats why people are following man city more as well

but fellaini defo could be great, hes been scouted by a lot of major clubs like real and thats not a mistake, give him a couple of years and he'll get into the EPL team of the year ;)

hes still not great, he still has flaws, but he's been here for half a year and face it hes pretty useful for the everton squad, remember he didnt know the english game nor the language when he came here

honestly i didnt think hed fit in as well as he has as soon as this

lovin' the afro-man b)
