I thought we had a thread, years' back, shocked I remembered.

Those newspaper clips show total pro Leeds bias - according to them it was all our fault.
Or they went the other simplistic way Money is spoiling the game.

It had nothing to do with money and all to do with Revie and his Cowardly Mk.II plan...(his first plan in the 50s was basically to play with a deep lying centre forward/ false number 9...revolutionary for the 50s)

The anybody but Everton thing was rife even then
 
I was there that day as the used the side Turnstile to take Gwladys street - Got in the paddock to see the bloodbath as knives & weapons were in use - ST John's Ambulance men with stretchers with blood dripping through the canvas running past me towards the park end - I think 2 or 3 Millwall fans died .... we got beat 2-0 in the FA Cup that day - awful scenes from the travelling fans - v the Gwladys street - a non contest .....
2 or 3 died? Not having that. I was at that game and I don't recall anybody dying. There was a lot of trouble in the Street End but no deaths...
