100% agree Joey. It's never them - they got us banned from European football end of my hatred of them will never subside ok!
Still our team kicking a football it's not a working man's game anymore!i think there are some rose tinted glasses around goodison , it’s crowd and atmospheres over the years .
Keeping in mind we were famous for fiddling the figures but I think we’ve officially averaged over 50,000 once in the grounds history . We won the league with averages around 30,000 and led into that with about 10k less.
Yeah there were some incredible atmospheres, Bayern was ridiculous, but I remember the years leading up to it the ground being relatively empty and often flat . Not to mention some of the reaction to Howard and general discontent.
Has the last 30 years had consistently good atmospheres , of course not the start of last season in particular was dire . However we haven’t won a carrot but the likes of palace and Bournemouth even the Tarkowski derby would stand up against many of the years before I sat through .
Football has changed , whether any of us like it or not but I’m not sure I’m as misty eyed over the crowds and atmospheres others seem to be . Even if I do feel that about the on pitch performances.
You’ll get no argument from me over thatit's not a working man's game anymore!
With unreserved seating you could only have 90% of the capacity for the area. Well better though...if youre into the atmosphere that is, crap if youre not.Unreserved seating was only a thing when you could pay on the gate. There hasn't been a match that's not been all ticket for years.
Agree, some of the atmospheres at Goodison, particularly recently towards the end of seasons when we've been fighting for safety have been fantastic. However, there have also been many many more occasions where you could hear a pin drop. Same as all stadiums in this country tbf.
The only stadiums where there is constant noise are those on the continent with ultras. However I'd like to hope that will never take on here as it's forced and cringey as anything.
My hatred of them rises every year in line with inflation. It's never them - they got us banned from European football end of my hatred of them will never subside ok!
My hatred has been there since age sixMy hatred of them rises every year in line with inflation.

As Bramley Moore has the seating at the front it actually suits Ultra style support. So if Ultras do happen at Bramley Moore then it serves people right for not complaining about the standing not being at the back.
People should have complained then about where they put the rail seats. Standing areas at the front are suiyed to Ultras. Standing areas at the back are suited to the traditional way.I can confidently say Everton will never have ultras.
Oh, I'd consider the entire Lower Gwladys ultras. Either that or the detritus of society. But, our detritus.I can confidently say Everton will never have ultras.
An area behind each goal in most grounds could be comfy standing room The grandstand seat was always at the back - no one like siting down in my day as - if you were in a seated area any attack on the goal you were behind people stood up in front of you & they moan about obscure views ....With unreserved seating you could only have 90% of the capacity for the area. Well better though...if youre into the atmosphere that is, crap if youre not.
