The Ashes - Australia 2013/14

England lost the 2006/7 series here 5-0, but they really weren't that bad and won the next three Ashes series.

This was entirely different. Beaten 5-0 and were hopeless in every match.

It'll be interesting to see how both of these sides go from now on. Starting with Australia in South Africa next month.

It will be interested, our bowlers are on form and it will be interesting to see how SA is post-Kallis. Can't turn to him with the ball if things aren't going their way, can't rely on him to steady the ship if the batsmen are struggling. SA will probably win because they are the best in the world, but it will be a good benchmark to test against for Aus

One series doesn't make a player, only 4 months ago he won the Ashes nearly single handedly.

A lot of team's best players bat at 5, I'm thinking Clarke, Chanderpaul, McCullum, AB De Villiers, Bell should be treated the same.

Could you see any of them having a series like Bell's just had? Don't get me wrong he's great when things are going well but he's mentally weak like most of that team.

I've seen them struggle in the past, it happens. You're right about the team being mentally weak, there's some big issues in the sheds.

We're all feeling sorry for Cook. I honestly believe he's in charge of a fragile team with a very ordinary off field support team too. I hope he retains the Captaincy in order to set the record straight on his time...

Its up to him to grow a some balls and tell flower this is how we are doing it, get in line or do one, so obvious he isnt picking the team or even has much of a say by how he wont bowl bowlers picked

ps boyd rankin is utter gash

What the hell's happened with the one day team?

It's like it was 10 years ago with all these players I've never heard of getting a game. Couldn't believe the way they treated the final game in the home series when they were resting players. We're playing the Aussies FFS! Ridiculous.

In a match against the Prime Minister's XI, Alistair Cook was out for 1 in the first over against Brett Lee. Well and truly Cooked!
